Faculty & Postdoctoral Fellow Hiring Process

To aid academic departments, the Provost's Office developed some "how-to" guides to provide step-by-step instructions for using Interfolio as well as how to integrate the Interfolio process with the iReKREWT system process (HCM).

This guide illustrates the hiring process from start to finish - how to create and post new positions, initiate and submit an offer, as well as close and archive the position.

Search Committee Guide to Using Interfolio to Evaluate Candidates (updated 4.13.18)
This guide focuses on how a search committee may evaluate candidates, as well as updating position and candidate statuses throughout the search process.  Candidate statuses must be applied.

Faculty Recruitment Action Plan ("FRAP")

Departments hiring new faculty are required to complete the above FRAP form. Tulane University is also a federal contractor and is required to adhere to equal employment and anti-discrimination laws, and apply good faith efforts to recruit and retain a qualified, diverse faculty proactively. Tulane’s Affirmative Action Programs include taking action to employ and advance underrepresented groups, including people of color, women, persons with disabilities and covered veterans.  The completed FRAP should be uploaded when the position is created in Interfolio.  FRAPs are not required for adjunct hiring.

Faculty Appointment Details Form ("FAD")

Departments hiring new faculty are required to complete the above FAD form.  The completed FAD should be uploaded in HCM at the time the hiring manager wants to "Create an Offer" in the system.  The FAD, along with the candidate's CV, should be included in the "Create an Offer" stage, which will then route to the Provost's Office for approval.  FADs are required for all faculty hires, including adjuncts.  Staff who teach as adjuncts should also have a completed FAD form attached to the payment request in HCM, along with the staff member's CV.

Matrices explains which schools/units are allowed to hire which kind of faculty, as per the Faculty Handbook.  In addition, the matrices show which faculty titles are available to which units.
